Catch up on insights from GC at Catalyst and those lawyers new to in-house, join our Juno Learning Resilience webinar next week, and master a Teams organising hack. Bringing you the latest from Aotearoa's in-house legal community.
The steady hands of calm, encouraging team members are always valued. They bring balance and adaptability and help to ground the team. In-house lawyers often fulfil this role, providing stability during times when tensions twist through a team or community. However, even the steadiest of hands need a boost—energy that can come from a balance of leaning in and taking a break.
We're in a happy position to deliver a bit of both to your inboxes today. We're grateful to be able to offer a range of fresh perspectives and insights from GCs, those new to in-house, and our Juno team. Also, a last call to register for next week's webinar on Resilience with Alia Bojilova. We've heard the word Resilience a lot and we've been told we're meant to have it, so we're excited to explore what that actually means and looks like.
Just as important as learning and growing is the opportunity to pause, take a breath, and celebrate our community. We invite you to take a sidestep in your inbox and enjoy this newsletter—an email that doesn't add to your to-do list (although you might be inspired to organise your Team messages if that's your relaxing jam). With a combination of knowledge-sharing and community building, we hope it helps to keep spirits strong and hands steady.
In the spotlight: Christine Loughnan
Christine Loughnan, General Counsel at Catalyst, shares her insights on providing a steady hand of leadership. Drawing from experience, she offers this grounding analogy: "You're juggling so many balls... The trick is to know which balls are plastic, and which ones are glass. Then let the plastic ones drop".

At Juno, Teams is our water cooler of choice, yet conversations and files can build up over time. Here are some quick tips for managing multiple channels.
Tip 1: Find messages quickly Use the search bar in Teams to quickly locate files and projects. Type what you’re looking for and hit enter. Results will appear in the left pane with tabs for people and files. For precise searches, utilise Keyword Query Language (KQL) with keywords like ‘From:’ (name), ‘Subject:’ (keyword), ‘In:’ (channel), and ‘Sent:’ (date).
Tip 2: Organise your channels and teams Reorganise them by dragging and dropping teams to your preferred order. 📍Pin important teams or channels to your folder list. Hide inactive channels by clicking the ellipsis next to the team name. 👁️To see hidden teams, which are arranged alphabetically, navigate to the bottom of your Teams list, choose ‘Hidden teams,’ find the team, click the More options icon, and select ‘Show.’ Similarly, view hidden channels by selecting ‘Hidden channels’ and ‘Show.’
